What to Wear When You Go Skydiving

New Orleans Skydiving

Skydiving is certainly not a fashion gala. You should wear any type of clothing that fits you comfortably, and preferably something relatively loose-fitting, but not too big. Ladies will want to avoid wearing skirts on this day as well.

Here are some clothing suggestions to consider for skydiving.

Wear clothes according to weather

In warmer months, you’ll be much more comfortable if you put on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. On the other hand, wearing jeans and a sweatshirt is ideal for cool months as those clothes can keep you cozy and warm.

Shoes for skydiving

Sneakers are the ideal shoes to wear if you plan to go skydiving. Sandals or flip-flops should be avoided at all costs, as they can easily come off during your jump. The best footwear should grip your feet tightly as you get ready for an adrenaline-rushing 120 mph free fall. Boots or shoes with hooks on them should also be avoided.

Jewelry

Wearing jewelry is generally not recommended when skydiving. Before you take up the skydiving challenge, it’s advisable to remove all your jewelry and give it to a close acquaintance before the big jump. Experts advise that you also get rid of watches or other hand accessories you are wearing.

Glasses

Goggles are provided to every person skydiving. If you wear prescription glasses, you still need to wear goggles on top. On the other hand, if you're wearing contact lenses, speak to your instructor first to find out if they're allowed.
